The purpose of the Educational Bill of Rights is so dyslexic student can have a free and appropriate education. It would stop schools from retaining students because they were not able to pass a standardized test when that test specifically tested the area related to their disability. And would provide all dyslexic students access to an educational model that would include intensive research-based therapies to increase literacy gains, accommodating dyslexic students with the most up-to-date electronics using screen readers software, voice synthesizers and smart boards and allowing for extended time on tests.

No student should be held back (retained) because of a disability that affects the student ability not being able to read on grade appropriate level. Any student that has a medical doctors assessment, psychiatrists assessment or a Masters or doctorate in speech pathology that states a disability that affects the students the ability of passing F-CAT assessment should not be held back if that students has been maintaining a 70 or above grade point average.

All students with a language disability, central auditory processing disorder or dyslexia shell have accommodations that will communicated to them in the most efficient format. Those accommodations shell be but not limited to screen readers, voice synthesizers and smart boards.

No administrator, teacher or any other school employee shall used language that is condescending, humiliated or demeaning to a language impaired student or an dyslexic student such as but not limited to calling the student Stupid, not listening or not trying. All administrators, teachers and other school employees sure use supportive language, replacing poor self images caused by abusive language with caring words. School employees she’ll model traits such as kindness, determination, integrity, loyalty, perseverance, empathy, respect and love.
